Georgia Safe Protection Carry Act
The Georgia Housed pass hb 60 which broadens the rights of georgians with a georgia weapons carry license (gwcl) to legally carry weapons concealed and open. This bill also made it illegal to carry a weapon in a house of worship. o.c.g.a. § 16-11-127 (carrying weapons in unauthorized locations; penalty) allows the governing body of a place of worship to permit the carrying of weapons and long guns by license holders.
On April 19, 2015, the members of Faith Community Church Unanimously voted to Opt-in to O.C.G.A. § 16-11-127 and allowed weapons carry on the premises. The members felt this was in accordance with their second amendment rights.
