Pastor Jim Garrett has been serving as the Senior Pastor at Faith Community Church (FCC) since 2000. He and his wife, Shelley, have 3 children, Hannah, Trey, and Kaitlyn.
Pastor Jim earned a General Education degree with an emphasis in Biblical Studies and a Minor of Philosophy from Vennard College, University Park, Iowa in 1989. Before his time as the Senior Pastor at FCC, he served as a youth pastor for 7 years in Nebraska, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Outside of the church, you can find Pastor Jim in his basement shop working with his tools. He enjoys working with his hands to custom build items, such as cabinets, countertops, fishing lures, bows and arrows, and knives. He also enjoys repair/refinishing work, restoring items such as vintage furniture and antique shotguns, in addition to automotive repair on his 70hp Evinrude boat motor.
Pastor Jim’s goal for the church is to, above all, be a healthy congregation of believers who are daily becoming disciples of the Lord Jesus. His wish is that every member will discover and explore their God-given gifts and talents for ministry in the church that we might be salt and light in our community, county, state, country and beyond.
